Hi Jan, I think an old bristle brush works well if the dust is loose. If not, then you can soak then in a sink full of soapy water. (most baskets are okay to do this), rinse well and dry. Sit out side in the sun or you can lightly blow them dry.

I have come up with an easy technique for a Frenchy graywash that I think I will try out on a few of them and I definitely want to try a water based stain after seeing yours.
