Hi Annette,
What kind of paint did you use for the lettering? If you used Chalk Paint, it can tend to bleed a bit (if that’s what you are referring to on the “lap over brush strokes”). So when applying with a brush you want to use as little strokes as possible. Just go over it lightly the first time, then after that you are okay. OR you can use a spray sealer. Either will work but I prefer the brush on poly. :)
