I am all about reducing chemicals and can’t stand the artificial smells anymore. I adore my essential oils though! xoxo

Second, love this post as I hate using chemicals to scent my home and am an avid user of essential oils for so many things, including medically with success. I also have the Geranium you posted from Plant Therapy. I love their oils and prices. Hope you don’t mind my sharing something but Plant Therapy, and others I’m sure, make oils to aid your immune system and also a Germ Fighter. Have used them often on myself and grandson, and swear they help. Between Covid, the flu, and pneumonia, I’ll be starting to use mine again now. That diffuser looks so nice. It is tempting. I am going to print off all your tips and recipes. Thank you!

Absolutely! I already had a note about…”just because it is “natural” does not mean it is safe”. But I added an extra note to include awareness about pets. :) xo

Thanks so much. I only found out about the essential oil problem about 6 months ago and I have 3 cats! I put the word out to my friends with pets and would encourage anyone with pets to check out the articles. There are ways to use them safely (or at least safer) so you can still enjoy your favorites.

There are many articles available online on the subject. It isn’t necessary to throw all your oils away but to use them with care. The article from ASPCA gives info on which oils are the most harmful, symptoms to watch for, ways to use, etc. I can’t use potpourri since one of my kitty girls has to try everything. She also makes a toy from all sorts of things so she would be carrying pieces of the potpourri all for the house. So if you could just add a note, since so many people enjoy your site, it might prevent a reader from having an unfortunate experience.

Hi Mary,

No, they aren’t. I buy from all over…and yes, organic is always best! Sometimes hard to find and can get very pricey though. I tried to list a few sampler packs here for ease of purchase to get started using oils. The companies I usually buy from don’t offer that and it can be a little overwhelming. I always say to make sure they are listed as 100% pure, undiluted and therapeutic quality. You should be good to go if you follow that rule. A favorite company of mine is Eden Botanicals. :)
Just to note, even if they aren’t organic, in my opinion, they are still a MUCH better choice than artificial fragrance.

Are those the exact essential oils you buy for your home use? I was wondering if organic would be better? What are your thoughts??
