Home DIY projects for 2020, room reveals, home builds, updates, and more!

Happy New Year’s Eve!! 2021…hopeful for a better one! I know you are too!

Wow, I posted about quite a few home DIY projects in 2020. And we have even more planned for 2021…at the beach condo anyway. Hopefully, we are about done with our house here. We do have some landscaping and some smaller things to do but nothing big, thank goodness. We are basically done! Woohoo!
And it only took us 16+ years. lol

I am really proud of these and there were many this year so I wanted to highlight and reshare them. AND because I think they might be helpful to other home DIYers out there. Lots of helpful ideas for giving your home or home items a lift, update, and more.

Be sure to follow along on Instagram in the new year too, I always share there first. It’s really my favorite SM to share on and am going to try to do more with it in 2021.

EDITED to add… I just realized that some of these are from 2019!! (oops!) Haha..par for the course for 2020, right?
Oh well, these are some of our favorite DIYs from 2019 AND 2020 anyway! :p

Do you have any fun home DIY projects planned for 2021?? I hope this will be helpful, if so!

I really love this coat wall rack so much that I decided to include it. It is a “build” and attached to the wall so I’m going with it! ;)
I am very proud of how this one turned out.

We took the carpet off years ago and replaced the old treads with these oak ones. They were orangey yellow for years.
I finally fixed that when we got our new flooring in. (and it was simple!)

Our small but mighty master bedroom bathroom…finally done! I can NOT tell you how thrilled that makes me. This poor room continuously got pushed to the bottom of the list because no one saw it but my husband and me. Well, no more, it’s a beauty now!

  1. Thank you, Nancy, for sharing your projects. It was nice to see them again, but all in one place! You are not on crafty but also a very talented do-it-yourselfer! Happy New Year! I hope it will be a blessed one for you and your family.

  2. Wow, when you look back you have to think about everything you accomplished this year. You were “in the zone”. And, you’re so helpful with showing/telling us what NOT to do. That really helps us so we don’t spin our wheels trying to figure it out. Take pictures of your closet and duplicate it in your new space. You know, a beautiful closet is a gal’s best friend other than your cute Ryder. Good luck with your new projects and Happy New Year.

    1. Thank you, Kathy!! Yes!! That is one space I will most definitely miss! I have thought of that several times (having to recreate it) so I’m going to have to, for sure! :) xo

  3. Really amazing projects! Such inspiration!

What are your project plans – if any- for your new year? Or maybe you just want to enjoy it and not work for a millisecond, huh?? : – )

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

    1. Thanks, Michele!! Hmm, well, we won’t sit back and enjoy!! Haha! It’s not in our nature. It’s funny because we say that we will finally relax and enjoy but my husband and I both know we won’t! We will find something else to do…every single time!! haha But plans off the top of my head, finishing up the condo redo plus the kitchen remodel there, doing some landscaping around our home here, possibly giving the upstairs hall bath that mini-makeover I posted about in 2020 (depends on if we sell before or not), and just general finishing up around here. So nothing big at our home here as it’s mostly (finally!!) done. I think the condo will keep us busy at least part of the year. Maybe I’ll have more time for small projects like furniture makeovers and such instead. I do have some other things planned I hope to bring to you all soon though! xo

  4. Your home is beautiful! I’m surprised you are moving after all that work, but I know you have your reasons! Look forward to seeing more of your beach house renovation and your next home. Your blog is a breath of fresh air. Happy New Year!

    1. Thank you so much, Vicki! Well, yes, it will be hard to move as it’s the house we’ve lived in the longest and raised our kids in but we want to go to a one story. (and get a little land around us, if possible) And it’s just time for a change, I think. We’ve been looking off and on for several years and I’ve not really found what we are looking for yet so it may be a while. Or not since we are more seriously looking since our house is at a point that it can be listed finally! Our condo will keep us busy for part of the year anyway with the kitchen remodel and finishing up the rest of the other things still not 100% done. (I’m excited to get the kitchen done over there!) And thank you for the kind words, that is so nice to hear! Happy New Year to you!! xoxo

  5. Nancy, Thanks for all of your sharing and inspiration over the year! I have actually completed some projects as well because of you! :)

I wish you the best of luck in your new adventures ahead! Look forward to all the posts and projects that will be coming our way!

    Happy New Year!!

    1. Oh, that makes me so happy to hear, Vicki!! That’s exactly why I do this! And thank you so much! xoxo Happy New Year! xo

  6. OMG! Nancy, I see you also have a Great Pyrenese. Aren’t they the most wonderful dogs. I love my Leo so much I don’t mind the constant vacuuming. So, I asked my vet at UCDavis if they sleep so much because they use so much energy making fur. She said, definitely. Making fur, shedding fur, making more fur, shedding more fur–takes a lot of energy.

    1. Oh, hi Lynn!! Yes, I love Great Pyrenese! But my Ryder is an English Cream Golden Retriever. :) They look VERY much alike though (and the same fur issues, lol)! I sometimes have a hard time telling them apart. But the ears and tail usually give it away. Bet your Leo is a handsome fella! xoxo
