Hello friends!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
If you missed last week’s post, I am hosting a giveaway for my 8 year blogiversary. There’s still time to enter if you haven’t yet!
Hop on over and enter >>>here.

Today I’m sharing a makeover from one of the pieces from the beach condo. There are several things that are coming out(or have already come out) and are not going back in! ;) Today’s project is one of them.

Remember this coffee table??

Well, it got a brand new glammed up look.

Here is another shot of it “before”…

I think someone may have painted a coat of chalk paint over it quickly to change it from blue to white. It wasn’t a great paint job and it didn’t look like they even sealed it. Such is life when someone is staging a home to sell, I think.

So, I just went back over it with another coat of the chalk style paint I like to use. (linked below)

Once that was dry, I used a pretty stencil to create a gold stencil top design. I measured the table and began in the very center.

I love using a small foam roller for stenciling. It works so much better than a brush.

I worked my way from side to side…

And then went back and did the skinny portions all along the edge on both sides.

Simple!

Once it was dry, I put a coat of Gator Hide over the whole thing. (2 coats on the top)

And I sprayed the hardware with something that looked similar to the paint I used, Champagne Mist. (as mentioned, everything is linked above)

I’m really happy with how it turned out. Because, you know, it’s sort of a basic table. Nothing too exciting about it.

But now it’s got some glam and I love it.

Remember that tray?? I gave it several makeovers over the years…here is the latest one.

This table was sort of a rustic washed-blue underneath and so were the drawers so I just left them as-is.

And check out this little sneaker peeker… I see you, Ryder…lol

You cutie, you.

This was a pretty simple makeover but a fun way to knock it up a notch! All it takes is a little paint (and stencil!). :)

PIN it to save it!

We are headed to the beach condo to start the install of our new flooring. Missed that post??
You can see it right >>> here.
So, I’m not sure what I will be sharing on Thursday because we will be in the thick of it. lol
Be sure to follow along with me on Instagram so you can catch a snippet or two. So excited!

I’m messing around with these next…

white barstools yellow seats

UPDATE!! See them now, here!

I am going to try to get out one day (will depend where we are on the flooring install) and do some thrift shopping at the thrift stores down there for a change to see what I can find. If I can get that done in time, I’ll share that haul with you all on Thursday. :)

xoxo

  1. Your table re-do is great but it’s Ryder who steals the show. He’s the best accessory in the room! What a sweetie!

  2. Sweet makeover and the table is a winner! Wonderful staging with Ryder to add the warm & fuzzy component. This table has an understated glam touch now. Great job!!!
    Create on!!!

    1. I liked the table before, but your makeover took it over the top! Great job!
When you use a foam roller for stenciling, do you still need to off load it a lot? I struggle with paint bleeding under the stencil. I’m hesitant to use spray adhesive for fear of it lifting the paint or leaving sticky residue.
      Thanks,
      Susan

      1. Thanks so much, Susan! Okay, yes, I do that, I should’ve mentioned that. So yes, I actually use a paper plate to roll the foam roller on to smoosh in the paint and take off the excess. I have used the spray adhesive a few times and it is nice to have it firmly in place, but most times I don’t bother. And yes, that is a concern too! (lifting fresh paint) xo

  3. You are so neat! I cannot stencil and if I do, it is a smeared mess. So I just don’t even try anymore!! I do love the table and it has such character now. Not as much character as Ryder!! He is so regal!XOXO

  4. I think Ryder deserves a commission on your sales. Beautiful baby and the table isn’t bad either😁
    Such an easy elegant upgrade.
    Beautiful.

    1. Haha, yes, he most certainly does! I give him treats and lots and lots (probably more than he wants lol) of loving all day long. ;) Thank you, Teresa! xoxo

  5. I love this table and you have given me some ideas for an old coffee table I just bought for $15. I am excited to try this. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Aw, thanks so much, Michele! Sometimes the styling is as much fun as the makeover!! ;)
And yes, he always does!! haha xoxo

  6. Love the quick makeover. The stencil in gold does add that touch of glam. I also liked the redo of the drawer pulls. Thanks for sharing.

  7. I like the fact that you were able to change the whole vibe and make it look like something special and important without screeming , “Makeover!” In other words, the change is subtle but very classy. I also like the tray. I’m going to check out that post. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thank you, Sonja! Yes, it was a simple change…but looks totally different, huh? :) And yes, that tray has seen several makeovers (by me!) …and think this last one is a winner though. It’s a favorite piece of mine. Just goes to show you, something you’ve had for years and maybe don’t think twice about, could become a brand new treasure with just a little paint. xoxo

  8. I love that stencil. I have used it on end tables and on the floor in two bathrooms. It adds the perfect amount of detail. Love it in the gold!

  9. I love this idea…I think I will try it on an old cedar chest I want to redo! And I love Ryder too! He is the star of the show!
